Cecilia Martinez-Miranda runs a family office that combines creativity and community to develop place-based community assets in the Philippines. Her work includes the revitalization of Crossroads Cebu, Cebu’s first strip mall, to turn it into a hub for homegrown business and community culture. She is also the co-founder and co-convener of Create Cebu, a movement to promote art, culture and the creative economy in Cebu.
In high school, Cecilia co-founded WE International Philippines, an NGO supporting garbage scavengers in Tondo, Manila. She then moved to Saint Paul, MN where she earned her B.A. in International Studies and Education from Macalester College. Before returning to the Philippines, she managed a youth-run flower shop in Minneapolis and promoted Youth Social Entrepreneurship with the Sundance Family Foundation.
Cecilia is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, StartingBloc Fellow and winner of a Davis’ Projects for Peace prize.
